Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz Get Married!

Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz were married Saturday evening(17 may 2008) in an intimate ceremony, their spokesperson tells PEOPLE exclusively.

"We're delighted to confirm that Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson were married this evening in front of family and close friends," said the spokesperson.

Simpson, 23, wore an ivory lace wedding gown by Monique Lhuillier and jewels by William Noble as she and Wentz, 28, exchanged vows in front of 150 guests at her parents' Los Angeles area home.

Dad Joe Simpson performed the non-denominational ceremony, while sister Jessica served as maid of honor. Wentz's English bulldog, Hemingway, was the ring-bearer. Guests included Jessica's boyfriend, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, Nicole Richie and Joel Madden, as well as actor Donald Faison with girlfriend CaCee Cobb.

Simpson told PEOPLE on Friday that she was never the type to dream about her wedding when she was growing up, but changed her tune once she got engaged. "Now that I'm doing it, I definitely have that big dream. It kind of went more fairytale than I thought. I got really into it." Added Wentz, "She has this amazing imagination and to watch it take place is an awesome thing."

With the help of wedding planner Mindy Weiss, Simpson got her dream nuptials: The Alice in Wonderland themed reception featured a wedding cake by Sam Godfrey of Perfect Endings with a top hat, tea pot, stop watch and a pot of flowers on top. The elaborate centerpieces of black magic roses were by Mark's Garden. Guests were served Rose Veuve Clicquot champagne followed by a sit-down dinner and dancing to a deejay.

Simpson, who sources say is pregnant with the couple's first child, and Wentz, the bassist for Fall Out Boy, have been linked since the fall of 2006, when they were spotted kissing at a New York nightclub. They announced their engagement last month.

"He's a cutie," Simpson told PEOPLE last year. "He has an awesome personality and kind of brings out the best of me and I knew that even before we were dating. There was just like an awesome connection we had."

After they'd been dating almost a year, Wentz told PEOPLE, "We're past the honeymoon period. The truth is, it's crazy to be able to kiss your best friend. It's just a really awesome thing."

This is the first marriage for both.

Pete Wentz Greatest Record of All on Its Way

Fall Out Boy, FNMTV host and soon-to-be-father Pete Wentz is dishing out details on one of our favorite topics: babies!

The rocker called in to Ryan Seacrest’s KIIS-FM morning show Thursday to talk about his future Hot Topic poster child, and it was actually pretty charming.

Apparently, the Simpson-Wentz manor has put green olives on orange alert—the tasty little fruits being Ashlee’s main craving and that she's been putting on everything.

As far as how Pete’s taking his impending fatherhood, he had an interesting way of putting it:

“It’s like making a record, but knowing you’re going to mix it for the next 18 years.”

That’s cute, right? Even cuter is that all he wants to do is "live in the suburbs and hang out with my kid."

Whether that kid will be a boy or girl is still unknown, but it's something he hopes the doc will figure out in a couple of weeks.

Sounds like this kid is going to turn out just fine—as long as Grandpa Joe Simpson doesn't figure out a way to package the diaper training into a reality series.

Ashlee and Pete Expecting Twins

Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson-Wentz could find themselves facing another round of twin rumors.

Hip-hop artist Tyga, Pete's buddy, says that the parents-to-be are expecting not one but two bundles of joy.

“They’re having twins,” Tyga said in an exclusive interview yesterday at the House of Hype’s pre-VMA barbecue. “They’re really happy.”

Either Tyga spilled the beans or he’s repeating an Internet rumor that Pete started earlier this summer…

In June, Pete sent the Internet into a tizzy when he referred to his and Ashlee’s unborn baby as “them” during an Arizona radio interview. He quickly denied they were having twins, explaining to blogger Perez Hilton that he was just trying to be vague about the pregnancy.

A rep for the couple insists only one baby is on the way. "It is not true," the rep said of Tyga's twins report.

Pete, 29, and Ashlee, 23, were married on May 17 at her parents’ L.A.-area home. Eleven days later, the young rockers announced that Ashlee was preggers.
